Pete Sidwell; bass guitar.
Steve Turner; drums.
"One of the best electric blues bands in the South of England" (Cliff Charter, The Golden Eagle, Southsea, December 2016)
The band is now celebrating 25 years of existence, with the three members having a wealth of gigging, touring and recording experience between them.
Mick first formed the Power of 3 in 1993, with Pete sitting in for a few gigs at short notice in '95, and then joining as a full time member soon after. Mick and Pete immediately clicked, both enjoying a return to the blues-rock material which inspired them to play in the first place, as well as the freedom of the trio format.
After a change of drummer in ’97, the trio kept the same line-up for nearly fourteen years, gigging solidly and building a sound reputation and dedicated following along the South coast. Then, in early 2011, in came drummer Steve, who added a new dimension to the band and was immediately accepted enthusiastically by the trio’s many followers.
Musically the band share similar tastes, enjoying playing their own interpretations of tracks by various artistes such as Joe Bonamassa, Robert Cray, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Bad Company, ZZ Top, Robben Ford, Matt Schofield, John Mayall..... as well as some of Mick’s own compositions.
The band has recorded three CD’s to date; the partly live “Rooted In The Blues” in 2000, followed by “No Time Blues” in 2004, and now their most recent CD, "After The Flood", is available at gigs.
